Basketball Recap: Neuse Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Neuse Christian Academy lost against Friendship Christian back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Neuse Christian Academy Lions lost 59-37 to the Friendship Christian Falcons. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Neuse Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sam Perry went 6 for 9 en route to 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Perry has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Aidan Graham, who posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks.

It was another big night for Hunter Peed, who went 7 of 17 on his way to 25 points along with eight boards and three steals for Friendship Christian. That makes it four consecutive games in which Peed has scored at least a third of Friendship Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Keller, who put up 12 points and six assists.

Neuse Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Friendship Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.

Neuse Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against St. Thomas More Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Friendship Christian, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on Thales Academy Rolesville at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Friendship Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.4 points per game this season.
