Softball Recap: Northern Durham Knights vs. East Chapel Hill Wildcats

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Falls Lake, Northern Durham was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the East Chapel Hill Wildcats. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Northern Durham also won the last time the pair played back in March.

Kylie Smith made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 18 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Smith was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and a triple.

Smith wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mason Browning, who went 2-for-2 with an RBI.
