It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Nikiski had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Kotzebue Huskies. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Nikiski not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Kotzebue between 17 and 19 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-19, 25-19.

Nikiski's win bumped their record up to 40-12-6. As for Kotzebue, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-16-2 record this season.

Nikiski has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Monroe Catholic on the 13th. As for Kotzebue, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Barrow at 11:45 a.m. The last three games the Whalers have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
