Soccer Recap: West Charlotte Comes Up Short

West Charlotte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 7-0 to the Mallard Creek Mavericks. While losing is never fun, West Charlotte can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 488th, while Mallard Creek are ranked 229th).

West Charlotte's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13-1. As for Mallard Creek, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

Coming up, West Charlotte will take on West Mecklenburg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Charlotte are facing West Mecklenburg at the right time seeing as West Mecklenburg are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Mallard Creek, they will challenge Hopewell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mallard Creek's defense better be ready for this one: Hopewell have averaged an impressive 4.5 goals per game this season.
