Dayspring Christian Academy faced Merino in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Eagles simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Rams 50-6. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Leading Dayspring Christian Academy to victory were Elijah Martin and Hawkins Flanagan. Martin rushed for 189 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 carries, while Flanagan rushed for 79 yards and two scores. What's more, Martin posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Dayspring Christian Academy's defense and their four sacks. Aj Soucie refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.

The victory made it two in a row for Dayspring Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.0 points over those games. As for Merino, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Dayspring Christian Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Akron at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Eagles 13.4, the Rams 13.7) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Merino will face off against rival Sedgwick County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
