Softball Recap: Porter Victorious

Porter posted their closest victory since February 19, 2024 on Saturday. They skirted past the Brenham Cubs 14-12. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

The team relied heavily on Mckenna Rinewalt, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Herrera, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.

Porter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Porter's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Brenham, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Porter will welcome Shepherd at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Shepherd will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Porter surely won't give up without a fight. As for Brenham, they will host West Fork at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
