Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Pickens' Fifth in Last Six Outings

The Pickens Dragons beat the Christian Heritage Lions 2-0 on Saturday.

Hannah Stalcup paced Pickens' offense, picking up 11 kills. Stalcup got some help from Sophia Derstine and her 18 assists. Derstine was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

When it comes to explaining why Christian Heritage lost, don't look at Lillee Mathis. Despite the final result, she had nine digs and six aces.

Pickens is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-17 record this season. As for Christian Heritage, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season.

Pickens wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Sonoraville on the 20th. As for Christian Heritage, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Dalton Academy on the 23rd.
