Basketball Recap: Medicine Lodge Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Medicine Lodge can now relate to. They came up short against the Sterling Black Bears on Thursday, falling 70-44. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Black Bears are ranked 30th).

Medicine Lodge's loss dropped their record down to 10-8-3. As for Sterling, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 19-3.

Medicine Lodge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sterling, they will take on Stanton County at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Sterling's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten contests.
