Baseball Preview: Palisades Pirates vs. Catasauqua Rough Riders
Palisades is 7-2 against Catasauqua since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Pirates will challenge the Rough Riders at 11:00 a.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Palisades has four straight victories, Catasauqua has ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Palisades will bounce into Saturday's match after beating Southern Lehigh, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Pirates skirted past the Spartans 3-2. Three seems to be a good number for the Pirates as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Mason Schultz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit.

At the plate, Anderson Hsu was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Greg Borgeson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Catasauqua came up short against Salisbury Township on Thursday, falling 18-1.
Catasauqua saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matt Fotta, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Fotta hit this season.
Catasauqua's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Palisades, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 5-3.
