Baseball Recap: Mead Comes Up Short

Mead scored first but ultimately less than Ferris in their matchup on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Saxons by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Saxons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-4 on Friday.

Lucius Spielman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. Kade Ferguson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Mead and nudges their season record down to 2-12. As for Ferris, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-10.

Looking ahead, Mead will square off against Gonzaga Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bullpups have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Ferris, they will face off against Mt. Spokane at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Saxons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
