Softball Recap: Republic County Buffaloes vs. Ellsworth Bearcats

Republic County extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 8-14 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-12 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ellsworth Bearcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bearcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-9 on Monday.

Jacqalyn Parde and Avery Stindt did some serious damage despite the final result: Parde went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Stindt went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Stindt has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Grae Siemsen, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

As for Ellsworth, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games.

On Ellsworth's side, Reygan Coonrod was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelli Rodriguez, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

As of now, neither Republic County nor Ellsworth have any future games scheduled.
