Softball Recap: LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls vs. Cypress Lake Panthers
LaBelle put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Monday. Everything went their way against the Cypress Lake Panthers as the LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls made off with a 9-2 win. The victory was familiar territory for LaBelle who now have three in a row.
Abby Hicks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive pitching appearances.
At the plate, Marissa Burchard and Brooke Black did most of the damage at the plate: Burchard went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Black went 3-for-4 with two runs, a triple, and two RBI.
