Football Recap: Uxbridge Starts off Right with Win over Maynard

Uxbridge had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Maynard Tigers 45-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Spartans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Tigers are ranked 115th).

Camden Lachapelle had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 208 yards and four TDs on only eight carries. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 14th straight game with at least 131 rushing yards dating back to last season. Thatcher Sweeney got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Maynard's loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Uxbridge will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Nipmuc Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Maynard, they will venture away from home to take on Millbury at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
