Recap: Smoky Hill Buffaloes vs. Cherokee Trail Cougars
The Smoky Hill Buffaloes fell victim to the Cherokee Trail Cougars''s stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Cougars on the road and fell 35-0. Smoky Hill just can't catch a break and has now endured seven losses in a row.
Smoky Hill's loss was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-0 Cherry Creek and 12-1 Palmer Ridge (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 65.2% over those games). As for Cherokee Trail, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-5.
Smoky Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cherokee Trail will square off against Chatfield at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Chatfield is ranked 12th, while Cherokee Trail is ranked 24th).
