Basketball Recap: Steelton-Highspire Comes Up Short

Steelton-Highspire was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were dealt a 77-49 loss at the hands of the Trinity Shamrocks. While losing is never fun, the Steamrollers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 385th, while the Shamrocks are ranked 77th).

Owen Schlager continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Trinity, dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. Schlager is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 19 or more in the last 16 games he's played. Marcus Yeager was another key player, going 5 for 9 en route to 14 points.

Steelton-Highspire's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Trinity, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

Steelton-Highspire has already played their next contest (against Harrisburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Trinity will be playing at home against Big Spring at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
