Volleyball Recap: Smithfield-Selma Falls Despite Big Games from Antonella Sanchez and Karmen Cyrus + How To Watch

Smithfield-Selma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the South Garner Titans, falling 3-0. The Spartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Titans earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

While Smithfield-Selma was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-17, 25-12.

Karmen Cyrus and Antonella Sanchez certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Cyrus had 15 assists, while Sanchez had ten kills and two assists.

Smithfield-Selma's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for South Garner, they moved to 2-12 with that win, which also ended their nine-match losing streak.

Smithfield-Selma didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Clayton on the 23rd. As for South Garner, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Knightdale on the 22nd.
