Basketball Recap: Chippewa Valley Comes Up Short

Chippewa Valley managed to keep up with Roseville until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Big Reds were outmatched by the Panthers and fell 84-57. The Big Reds were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 69-61.

Roseville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Terrell Owens, who shot 62% from the field to rack up 22 points along with five boards and five steals. Owens is becoming a predictor of the Panthers' success: when he posts at least three steals the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Carter George, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 17 rebounds.

Chippewa Valley's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Roseville, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
