Basketball Recap: Woodlake Triumphs

While Woodlake didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-23), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Avenal Buccaneers by a score of 42-31 on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by exactly 11 points.

Woodlake has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Avenal, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Woodlake Tigers take on the Orosi Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Avenal, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Minarets at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
