Softball Game Preview: Seventy-First Falcons vs. Westover Wolverines

The Seventy-First Falcons will head out to square off against the Westover Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Monday just wasn't the day for Seventy-First's offense. They came up short against Red Springs on Monday, falling 16-0. Considering the last time the Falcons couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Jordan Davis was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

Meanwhile, Westover lost 22-2 to St. Pauls on Friday. The Wolverines have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Westover saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayla Hepburn, who got a hit.

Westover's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Seventy-First, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

Everything went Seventy-First's way against Westover in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, as Seventy-First made off with a 19-10 win. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
