Baseball Recap: Tri-Central Trojans vs. Clinton Prairie Gophers
Tri-Central extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 4-14 in the process. They lost 11-1 to the Clinton Prairie Gophers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gophers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-5 last Thursday.
As for Clinton Prairie, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Considering they have won ten contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
For Clinton Prairie's part, they let Alex King and Luke Harshbarger run wild. King went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and one stolen base, while Harshbarger went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Those four hits gave Harshbarger a new career-high. Jackson Price was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Tri-Central and Clinton Prairie are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Trojans will take on Southern Wells at 5:30 p.m. on the 28th. As for Clinton Prairie, they will square off against Hamilton Heights at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
