Basketball Game Preview: Buckeye Local Panthers vs. Brooke Bruins

The Buckeye Local Panthers will head out to square off against the Brooke Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither Buckeye Local nor Brooke posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Last Thursday, Buckeye Local had to suffer through a 52-19 loss at the hands of Harrison Central. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 727th, while the Huskies are ranked 304th).

Meanwhile, Brooke was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Harrison Central 52-18. That's two games in a row now that the Bruins have lost by exactly 34 points.

Buckeye Local has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season. As for Brooke, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Buckeye Local took their win against Brooke in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 47-23. The rematch might be a little tougher for Buckeye Local since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
