Basketball Game Preview: Triad Cardinals vs. Cedarville Indians

Triad hasn't had much luck against Cedarville recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Triad Cardinals are taking a road trip to challenge the Cedarville Indians at 12:30 p.m.

Triad is headed into Saturday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a 60-22 loss at the hands of Madison Plains. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 633rd, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 160th).

Abbey Overfield was Triad's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Overfield also led the team in assists with three. Bre Parsons held things down on the boards with five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Cedarville humbled National Trail with a 45-18 victory. The contest marked the Indians' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Triad's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Cedarville, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Triad lost to Cedarville on the road by a decisive 47-31 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Triad avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
