Football Recap: Hopewell Takes a Loss

Hopewell lost against North Catholic back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Vikings fell 44-36 to the Trojans. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Hopewell saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nasir Wade rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. The Vikings are 4-1 when Wade posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. James Armstrong was another key player, rushing for 61 yards and one TD.

Hopewell's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for North Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Coming up, Hopewell is taking a road trip to take on Southmoreland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Scotties' defense has only allowed 9.1 points per game this season, so the Vikings' offense will have their work cut out for them. North Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
