Recap: West Jefferson Panthers vs. Butte County Pirates
This season hasn't been kind to the West Jefferson Panthers, who are still winless after their sixth contest. The game between West Jefferson and Butte County wasn't particularly close, with West Jefferson falling 70-55. While losing is never fun, West Jefferson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Butte County is ranked 32nd).
Brody Westergard was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds for Butte County. The contest was Westergard's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Rafe McAffee was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds.
West Jefferson bumped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Butte County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
West Jefferson will be home for the holidays to greet Soda Springs at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Butte County, they will head out on the road to face off against Oakley at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
