Orange Beach owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They walked away with a 3-0 win over the Corner Yellow Jackets. That's more bragging rights for the Makos, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Bryce McCollum looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low.

At the plate, Orange Beach saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Beck, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Caden Ford also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Orange Beach's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Corner, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 9-6.

Orange Beach and Corner should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Orange Beach (ranked 57th) will meet Parker (ranked 250th) at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Corner will take on West End at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday up 170 places (91 vs. 261).
