Laurens Academy's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 42-14 victory over Newberry Academy. The Crusaders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 26 points or more this season.

Leading Laurens Academy to victory were Caleb Hardy and Ethan Collins. Hardy gained 245 total yards and three touchdowns, while Collins threw for 179 yards and four TDs on only 16 passes. The dominant performance also gave Hardy a new career-high in rushing yards (135).

Laurens Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 236 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 187 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Laurens Academy's defense and their 3.5 sacks. In that department, Eli Garrett was the leader with two.

Laurens Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Newberry Academy, their loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.
