Bishop Manogue came out on top against Reed on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Miners had just enough and edged out the Raiders 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Miners have posted against the Raiders since March 29, 2022.

Bishop Manogue gave Wade Huntsman the start and clearly made the right call: he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nate Lemieux, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Aidan Cruz, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Bishop Manogue pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Reed, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4-1.

Looking ahead, Bishop Manogue will take on Casteel in a tournament on Wednesday. As for Reed, they will be playing at home against Lassen at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Grizzlies' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Raiders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
