Basketball Recap: First Christian Comes Up Short

First Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 65-44 to the Redeemer Christian Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to First Christian of the 57-50 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2020.

Despite the loss, First Christian still got an impressive performance from Brayden Pedersen, who went 5 of 12 en route to 17 points. Tucker Vinning was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine boards.

Graidy Hughes continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Redeemer Christian, almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hughes has scored at least a third of Redeemer Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Jackson LaFirst, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 13 points and five steals.

First Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Redeemer Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-17.

First Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-58 defeat against Open Bible Christian on the 3rd. As for Redeemer Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-51 victory against Countryside Christian on the 3rd.
