Football Recap: Cyprus Pirates vs. Hillcrest Huskies

Cyprus was the 44-0 winner over Hillcrest when they last played one another back in September of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Pirates lost 42-20 to the Huskies on Monday. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

K'Von Houston had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 368 yards and five TDs while picking up 13.1 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 59 yards on only five carries for Hillcrest. What's more, Houston racked up 135.4 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Hillcrest's leading receiver Grady Court was Houston's top target yet again, picking up 181 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Cyprus has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Hillcrest, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-6.
