St. Francis strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against the Johnson Warriors by a score of 15-6. While the Troubadours didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

St. Francis' defense made their presence known, laying out Anissa Zavala. three times. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Anastacia Uniza. Those three sacks set a new season-high mark for her. Another thorn in Johnson's side was Monet Zauner, who made five total tackles and snagged three interceptions.

When it comes to explaining why Johnson lost, don't look at Nala Wysinger. Despite the final result, she rushed for 42 yards and one score, and also picked up 48 receiving yards. Wysinger didn't just play on offense: she also picked up two sacks and made three total tackles.

St. Francis' victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Johnson, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Francis will welcome Pleasant Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' defense has only allowed 12.3 points per game this season, so the Troubadours' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Johnson, they will host Elk Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
