Football Recap: Lyndhurst Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Palisades Park/Leonia last Friday, Lyndhurst came back down to earth. The Golden Bears and the Becton Wildcats were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Golden Bears suffered a 14-13 loss. The matchup marked the Golden Bears' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Lyndhurst saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Avery Cano rushed for 109 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 55 yards and one TD.

Lyndhurst's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for Becton, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lyndhurst is set to face off against their familiar foe Elmwood Park at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Becton will square off against rival Garfield on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Wildcats 13.5, the Boilermakers 10.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
