Baseball Recap: Mogollon's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Mogollon had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Alchesay Falcons. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 7-6 victory the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Chancy Worsley made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Rocky Porter was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Yoyo Suarez was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Mogollon pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing seven strikeouts in those games compared to only four in the others. As for Alchesay, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-3.

Looking ahead, Mogollon will be playing in front of their home fans against Ray at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Mogollon's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Ray's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Alchesay, they are taking a road trip to square off against Winslow at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
