Basketball Recap: Sacred Heart Sets Scoring Season-High Against Collinsville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sacred Heart). They came out on top against the Collinsville Pirates by a score of 64-55 on Friday. The Tigers didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Sacred Heart's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Villarreal, who shot 7-for-10 from long range and dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, Villarreal is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Clayton Bezner, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Sacred Heart was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Sacred Heart's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Collinsville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
