Softball Recap: South Summit Finds Home Field Redemption Against Wasatch

There's no place like home for South Summit, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 6-0 margin over the Wasatch Wasps on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Wasps: they've now won five in a row.

The result came thanks to Toshlyn Louder's shutout, as she gave up just five hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Brinley Stapleton was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Emma Broadbent was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

The win got South Summit back to even at 5-5. As for Wasatch, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Coming up, South Summit will take on San Juan at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wasatch, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Maple Mountain at 3:30 p.m. on March 18th.
