Basketball Game Preview: Lake Clifton Lakers vs. Overlea Falcons

The Lake Clifton Lakers will square off against the Overlea Falcons at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Lake Clifton sitting on three straight wins and Overlea on 18.

Last Thursday, Lake Clifton strolled past Thomas Stone with points to spare, taking the game 48-29. The Lakers pushed the score to 40-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Overlea took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging an 81-33 victory over Sparrows Point. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Overlea's win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.9 points over those games. As for Lake Clifton, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.

Lake Clifton came out on top in a nail-biter against Overlea when the teams last played back in December of 2023, sneaking past 61-59. Will Lake Clifton repeat their success, or does Overlea have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
