Softball Recap: Fontainebleau Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

Fontainebleau hadn't done well against Northshore recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Fontainebleau Bulldogs came out on top against the Northshore Panthers by a score of 8-5. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered an 8-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

Bailey Lagman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Makenna McNabb was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Butscher, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Fontainebleau is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Northshore and nudges their season record down to 11-6.

Looking ahead, Fontainebleau will challenge Woodlawn-B.R. at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Northshore, they will take on John Curtis Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
