Recap: Ganado Hornets vs. Snowflake Lobos
The Ganado Hornets lost against the Snowflake Lobos back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Ganado took a 59-44 bruising from Snowflake. Ganado has struggled against Snowflake recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Ganado lost, one person who can't be blamed is Wyatt James. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Those eight rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Oraias Begay, who scored seven points along with six steals.
It was another big night for Asher Brewer, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and four steals for Snowflake. The contest was Brewer's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Lewis, who scored seven points along with nine steals.
Ganado has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Snowflake, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Ganado will head out on the road to face off against Round Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Round Valley's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Ganado has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. Snowflake will be home for the holidays to greet Winslow at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Winslow focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Monday.
