Softball Recap: Big Spring Bulldogs vs. Waynesboro Indians
Big Spring hadn't beaten Waynesboro on the road since May 7, 2015 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. Big Spring came out on top against Waynesboro by a score of 10-6. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 7-5 win the Indians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.
Rilee Stewart made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Shaun Adler, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Hannah Darhower, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Big Spring lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
