It was a good run, but Marion unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Belleville East Lancers, falling 7-0. Having soared to a lofty eight goals in the game before, Marion's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Marion's defeat dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Belleville East, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-8-1.

Marion wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, an 8-2 win against Carbondale on the 13th. As for Belleville East, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 4-0 loss against O'Fallon on the 12th.
