Basketball Game Preview: Patrick Henry Patriots vs. Hoover Cardinals

Patrick Henry and Hoover are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Patrick Henry Patriots will venture away from home to square off against the Hoover Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Patrick Henry and seven for Hoover.

On Tuesday, Patrick Henry came up short against St. Augustine and fell 59-52. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 597th, while the Saints are ranked 164th).

Meanwhile, Hoover took a blow against Santiago on Saturday, falling 75-46.

Hoover's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Patrick Henry, their loss dropped their record down to 8-16.

Patrick Henry came out on top in a nail-biter against Hoover when the teams last played on January 10th, sneaking past 47-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Patrick Henry since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
