Wetumpka faced Saraland in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Indians skirted past the Spartans 6-5. Winning may never get old, but the Indians sure are getting used to it with their 15th in a row.

Lalah Culpepper made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Culpepper was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Culpepper wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lexie Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Wetumpka hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive games.

Wetumpka's record is now 45-5. As for Saraland, they moved to 43-7-1 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Wetumpka nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
