Preview: Grand County Red Devils vs. Monticello Buckaroo
The Grand County Red Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Monticello Buckaroo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
After a string of three wins, Grand County's good fortune finally ran out last Saturday. They took a 45-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Sevier. Grand County has struggled against North Sevier recently, as their contest last Saturday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Rhiannon Hren, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Bryant, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Monticello suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Whitehorse 100-28. Monticello was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-18.
Grand County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Monticello, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
Everything came up roses for Grand County against Monticello in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 as the team secured a 51-22 victory. Does Grand County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Monticello turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
