Recap: BASIS Phoenix Firebirds vs. Veritas Prep Falcons
The BASIS Phoenix Firebirds struggled with assists on Saturday (the Veritas Prep Falcons had 2500% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. BASIS Phoenix had to suffer through a rough 77-15 loss at the hands of Veritas Prep. BASIS Phoenix was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-7.
Atharsh Ramkumar was BASIS Phoenix's leading scorer, having posted eight points.
Krish Bhakata held things down on the boards with five rebounds. Bhakata took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with a assist.
Veritas Prep was led to victory by Miles Perry and Baylor Arnold. Perry scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals, while Arnold scored 7 points along with 6 steals and 5 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Perry, who scored 4 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
This is the second loss in a row for BASIS Phoenix and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Veritas Prep, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
BASIS Phoenix will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Basis at 2:30 p.m. Veritas Prep's road trip will continue as they head out to face Gilbert Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on November 27th. Gilbert Classical Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
