Volleyball Recap: Hinkley Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Hinkley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against the Lincoln Lancers on Saturday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Thunder haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Hinkley was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-14.

Luis Rangel Cepeda paced Hinkley's offense, picking up six kills. Rangel Cepeda got some help from Sanip Rai and his 12 assists. Rangel Cepeda also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Eddy Aldana Salamanca, racking up three apiece.

Hinkley now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.

The future could be bright for both Hinkley and Lincoln: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Thunder will look to extend George Washington's four-game losing streak when they meet at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Lincoln will try to hand Rocky Mountain Prep SMART their 11th-straight loss when the two meet at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
