Belleville West has gone a perfect 9-0 against Granite City recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Maroons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 5:45 p.m.

On Thursday, Belleville West came up short against Edwardsville and fell 2-0.

While Belleville West ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Granite City came into Tuesday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out Metro-East Lutheran 2-1 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since April 14th.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Granite City who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 15-25, 25-21.

Granite City's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Belleville West, their loss dropped their record down to 12-16.

Belleville West beat Granite City 2-0 when the teams last played back in April. Will the Maroons repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
