Volleyball Game Preview: Riverheads Gladiators vs. Alleghany Cougars + How To Watch

The Riverheads Gladiators will face off against the Alleghany Cougars at 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Thursday, Riverheads came up short against Waynesboro and fell 3-1. The Gladiators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Despite the defeat, Riverheads saw an underclassman step up: freshman Emily Herndon had 21 digs and three aces.

Meanwhile, Alleghany waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Knights. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since September 21, 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Alleghany got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 15-25, 15-7.

Riverheads' loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Alleghany, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.
