Basketball Game Preview: Northwest Cabarrus Trojans vs. Robinson Bulldogs

The Northwest Cabarrus Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Robinson Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Northwest Cabarrus blew past West Rowan, posting a 67-33 victory. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Falcons are ranked 526th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Robinson waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They escaped with a win against the Spiders by the margin of a single free throw, 54-53. The 54-point effort marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Robinson's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.0 points per game. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Northwest Cabarrus and Robinson were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but Northwest Cabarrus came up empty-handed after a 65-64 loss. Thankfully for Northwest Cabarrus, Londen Roseman (who posted 25 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
