Preview: New Lexington Panthers vs. Philo Electrics
New Lexington and Philo are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The New Lexington Panthers will be playing at home against the Philo Electrics at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
New Lexington suffered their biggest defeat since November 30, 2023 on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 51-29 walloping at the hands of John Glenn. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss New Lexington has suffered against John Glenn since February 4, 2019.
Despite the defeat, New Lexington had strong showings from Abby Wilson, who scored four points along with eight rebounds, and Makenzy McCoy, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Philo pushed their score all the way to 60 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Shenandoah. Philo has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
New Lexington's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Philo, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
Everything went New Lexington's way against Philo when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as New Lexington made off with a 62-38 victory. Does New Lexington have another victory up their sleeve, or will Philo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
