Baseball Game Preview: Laguna Hills Hawks vs. Ocean View Seahawks

The Laguna Hills Hawks will head out on the road to take on the Ocean View Seahawks at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Laguna Hills' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Ocean View's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Laguna Hills' usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Saturday's struggle, when Covina hitters got past them. Laguna Hills fell 11-6 to Covina on Saturday. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nathan Ivey was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Damian Youngman, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Ivey wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Laguna Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Ocean View had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Laguna Hills on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Seahawks have posted since February 27th.

Laguna Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Ocean View, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
