Softball Recap: Arlington Has No Trouble Against Lexington

Arlington lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Lexington, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. The Spy Ponders blew past the Minutemen 13-7 on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Spy Ponders needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Soline Fisher made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia Corbett, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zanna Felton-Quinn, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one run.

Arlington now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Lexington, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arlington will take on Billerica Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lexington, they will welcome Westport at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
